The Beidou Ship Emergency Indicator (BD-EPIRB) is a marine emergency rescue device that can be manually activated or automatically floated and released after a shipwreck in case of distress. The distress rescue information can be sent to the shore-based search and rescue system through the Beidou short message. At the same time, the wireless distress information is transmitted to the surrounding through the AIS data link, includes the identification, location and other information of the ship in distress to achieve rapid distress search and rescue.
